I’ve been looking forward to the Balaboosta cookbook by Einat Admony all year. Balaboosta (for those who might not know) is a yiddish term for the perfect housewife, homemaker, mother, cook and hostess. Einat is a true Balaboosta! In addition to her busy work life running her three New York acclaimed restaurants, she also cooks for her husband, children and friends.
Einat’s cookbook is a mashup of cultures (Israeli, Persian, Egyptian). She offers the reader a variety of recipes from kid-friendly weeknight dinners to ideas for large gatherings and cozy intimate dinners for two. With 140 recipes in the book it will definitely take me a while to work my way through.
I started with what looked like the easiest to make first – the root vegetable chips, hummus, kebabs and the Kit Kat bars. They all received rave reviews from my family and I look forward to trying more recipes from this terrific cookbook.
